I am biased... I like every app Apple does... Or almost all of them...
I downloaded and tried Sound Booth:
- Interface: nothing close to Apple's soundtrack
- Features: nothing close to Apple's Soundtrack
Will wait for the next betas and test again but first impression is thumbs down... I think this has been made for AE users who want to have a sound utility or to keep the people who built Sound Edit 16 busy (ex Macromedia).... A lot of work to do to get to Soundtrack features and feel... And by the time it will be donen Soundtrack will get more and more muscle...

Hmm... I've held off on buying both a new phone and a new iPod for a while now, assuming that I'd want whatever phone Apple eventually comes out with, but the mention of battery life issues concerns me. If the battery goes dead on my iPod, no big deal, I don't listen to music until I charge it again. But if the battery goes dead on my phone, I could miss an important call. And if I have to monitor how much music I listen to to ensure that I can still receive calls, that might be a problem. Ideally, they could address this concern by having some software that told you well in advance that if you stop listening to music now, you still have so much time left on your phone.
No offense, but how many cell phone calls are really that important? None, given all the ones I overhear on a daily basis. :D
I could see a nifty little battery app on an iPod/iPhone device. Turn off music player when battery reaches x% or something like that.

In that case, bring it on, I eat punks like you for breakfast! :D
Maybe this should be a new feature for the folding widget: to look when you will be overtaken by someone or when you overtake someone.

I used to clean my Black MacBook with Mr. Clean Magic Erasers. It would have scratches that seemed would not come out with light soap and a rag but immediately lifted out with the magic eraser. That was a plastic case however, I'm not sure how it works on the aluminum unibody style.

This is going to be great, absolutely, but forget to pay only a $99 premium for this feature. TVs with Internet access and AirPlay capabilities are going to be overpriced for a couple years. Then the technology will either have failed and retired from TVs or it will be in every or so TV. Now I just wish I could have a cheap audio AirPlay receiver to connect my speakers to ($40 anyone?)

The military and the Army has had a "dialogue" with Apple for years... pretty much every project involving a piece of field equipment has gone to another manufacturer because of durability concerns.

Record industry trade magazine Music Week said the release of the CD single was likely to give the X Factor winner "a massive boost".
I work in a music store, people were buying several copies of Joe McEldry's (sp?) single at a time today and we've had people asking for it since Monday morning. And Amazon's selling the track for 29p.
Guy at work asked if I was joing in the Rage thing. I think you've got more chance of steering a train personally.
When it comes to music people often just buy utter crap. Seriously, they just buy what Heat magazine tells them to.

The point of PP seems to be to get rid of the consequences
PP offers a too easy fix to people's indiscretion
No, the point of PP is to give the tools and education to prevent pregnancy and disease. Abortion is a service offerred when there is an unwanted pregnancy.
My friend, there is nothing easy about abortion.

MS just doesn't get it. No OS X, no sale. Whenever MS tries anti-Apple marketing, they lose. They're completely out of touch, deer in the headlights style, in this new market situation. It's now becoming comical.
They tried this garbage with their Laptop Hunters campaign a couple of years ago, where they showcased some yokels walking into a big box store and passing over Macs due to price.
Apple went on to sell more Macs than ever before.
Desperation breeds a lot of baloney. The PC and netbook market are contracting at an alarming rate, thanks to the effects of the post-PC era, where MS barely has any presence.
Keep milking that Windows licensing cash cow, MS. Google and Apple have you right where they want you.
May Steve Ballmer continue to drive MS into the ground. It's fun to watch.
Ahh, another pro apple, anti ms post from LTD lol
No they get it perfectly well. They know Apple has a premium charge compared to other manufacturers so why not try and exploit it:rolleyes:
The microsoft usability tax costs even more, in wasted time and low productivity.
I think it really depends on what your needs are. You have been around here long enough to realize that...
Or perhaps you would be willing to show how I can be more productive on my mac when it comes to using industry standard CAD software like ProE? or Solidworks?
Pretty please?? lol

Should we tax those in high crime areas more because police respond there more often?
I was poking at SactoGuy18 and his evangelistic "Flat Tax" posts.
I went car free two years ago. I'd gladly pay a tax based on my use of the roads, whether it be by bicycle or bus. Or even the rare occasions I use ZipCar.
There's a serious rethinking going on about the use of automobiles in society. Whether it's London's congestion charge or San Francisco's dynamic parking meter rates or the total rethinking of requiring retailers to have x number of "free" parking spots.
The days of free roadways and free parking are over.

Could you post some screen shots? I might need to get tiger now....
The first post now holds 2 screenshots from a previous beta, just very slightly different from the current one. I will update them when i get home.
And indeed, you will need tiger now :D

Here's a quick question, does the family pack still only come with 1 disk or does it come with 5 separate ones for each license? (I have several macs in the house and it's cheaper to get the family pack, obviously!)
I'm pretty sure it is just the one.

I think the next big project might be to reorganise the Guides category by adding appropriate subcategories such as (for example) Mac Hardware Guides, Mac OS X Guides, iPod Guides etc. It's getting quite large as it is, and it might make it easier to find relevant articles.
It shouldn't be too bad, there are only 120 articles in the Guides category, so any changes should be much simpler than what I've done. And also you can also go through the standard categories to find the guide articles now.
I think getting more people editing the rest of the guides and getting people using the guides is the next step, especially from the iPod/iPhone side.
As well as a lot of very short articles there is a lot of good content already there.

I wasn't gonna bother going but curiosity got the better of me. I go past that way on my way home from work anyway. Got there around 5:45 or 5:50 I think and the queue was all the way down Hanover Street, along Hanover Square and about 2/3 of the way down Princes St
I wasn't gonna queue as I was just interested to see the crowds and thought I'd pick up a copy of Leopard at a later date - but then I stood at the back of the line and tried to get online... and just thought I'd see how quickly the queue moved.
Didn't feel like long but actually didn't make it in to the store until about 6:15 - yeah, just after I made that previous post. Wow, chaos! Just grabbed my copy along with a wireless keyboard and didn't feel like hanging around.
