If your co-worker is giving you the letter it makes more sense to have it notarized to make sure that he really signed it - Its okay if he signs in front of Canada or other countrie's notary public. Since this an RFE - you dont want to take any chances.
In general big companies wont issue this letter in this format and small companies disappear - so co-worker route is a pretty popular way !!

Once lawyer approves you should send it to your friend in Canada and he should print I believe he can notarize in Canada and send it back to you or may be he can print in his company letter head. Maybe my monitor is set a bit dark since I have yet to see my version as being too bright. Do pictures in my gallery seem to bright as well? If so I may have to do some adjustments.

You risk of being barred from entry is very real as you have accumulated more than 180 days of illegal presence in the US.
Your lawyer is right - and although there are some chances that some people are not barred, such info is mostly anecdotal and should not be used as a basis for making definitive plans.

We are expecting, so I do not think it is possible to change insurance. We still tried and got rejected. So that we will leave us with COBRA in case my wife chooses to quit or something happens to her job. And does H4 visa affect COBRA coverage? If you can answer this question that will be very helpful.
She should be eligible for COBRA ... no issues.
And I guess she is also eligible for the discount/economic stimulus on COBRA. I did not see anything that suggest one must be a Citizen/LPR for that discount

You won't have any issue with Indian Emigration officials in India. They are well aware of advanced parole as a means of entry to US.

Thank you for your information. I understand that as long as my old visa expired and I get entry to US on my new approved extension visa (assuming that it is approved while I am away from US) it goes good.
What if my visa petition gets dragged and I enter with my AP, after the expiry of my old visa. Is the extension pettition still good? If it is approved after i enter US, can i use the new visa ofcourse after getting out of US and get it stamped in a overseas consulate.
First, you cannot get admitted to the US with an expired visa, unless your trip is just a short one to Canada or Mexico.

I didnot like the webfax as it doesnot cover wishes of many people like me. People who have approved Perm should be allowed to file I140 and I1485 under old system even if Point Based system becomes law.

Yes, I told my lawyers next day after the site was opened and they confirmed that my case is in the system and "In Process," although, �In Process� is a very broad term � it does not tell me where in the queue my case is, when it will start to be worked on, i.e. the time factor and estimations are missing. It is really bad, bad system ;-(

EAD is one of the documents that is listed in I-9 as the document that confirms both identity and right to work. You spouse can apply for SSN as soon as she has her EAD in hand. S/he may start working before SSN is issued if she applied for the SSN.

Any idea how do they transfer application from VSC to NSC? Process or guidelines around it would be helpful.
My para-legal told me that since my I-140 has a EAC number, my I-485 was also sent to Vermont.
Please advise.
The answer to the FAQ clearly states that you should be fine and expect some processing delays. I am not sure what else you would like to know.

Received H1b approval last week. I got it approved for only 1 year though. I sent all the originals along with self addressed fedex postage paid envelope . USCIS safely posted back using the same envelope. I also sent them transcripts attested by registar in sealed envelope. Thanks for all the forum members who answered my queries.
