Last time (in 2008) TSC was very fast in approving the cases, NSC was bit slow, thought it would be a good statistic at a glance on approvals.

I have paid $60 for a citation (sale of tobacco products to minors) in 2004 in texas. do i need to mention this in my 485 application? does this effect my green card process?

There shouldn't be a problem. There's your DOB, A# and photograph on the card to verify that the person is actually you.

Is it true that the old (i.e., July 1st - July 29th) filing fees still apply through July 27th - August 17th? The new fees (which would have been applicable from July 30th) will now be applicable from August 18th, right?
Is this true for I-485, I-765 and I-131 forms?

I have neither received a receipt nor checks have been encashed. My attorney has not received any july 2nd filed cases receipts. Its a pretty big law firm.

yes, was and thought about it. Just woke up to see Life without GC is still the same and I am a day old. Now, I feel relaxed. Now, there is no need to check or wait for bulletin for the next one year or to atleast have any hope.

Here is a possible scenario I might run into next year after I change employers this month and restart my GC process.
Assuming the following:
1) I have approved I-140 with new employer by Sep 2012 and I am able to port my old PD
2) My PD is Nov1 2007 under EB2. PD becomes current in Sept 2012 and I apply for I-485
3) My employment contract gets over in Nov 2012 and I have to change jobs
What happens then.
1) Will I need to change jobs based on approved I-140 ?
2) Will I be able to keep the I-485 application going ?
3) If the I-485 adjudication occurs while I am at new job and it hasn't been 180 since I filed for I485 what happens ?
4) What happens if PD retrogress in October 2012 ?

I have EAD, AP and H-1B. I don't have H-1b stamped on my passport. I would like to travel on AP.
According to my lawyer;
"For every paper (AP) you have, you can make one trip with it. So if you have 3 original papers, you make 3 trips in and out of the country."
Is this true? My friends who traveled outside the country were told at the port of entry that AP can be used for multiple entry and the above does not hold true.
Any insight would be appreciated.

It depends on, your Priority Date, Country of Chargability and your application's category whether it is EB1, EB2 or EB3.
You can check the monthly Visa Bulletins to see what priority dates for each category are current as of now.

Hello Members,
I noticed that the dates on my i-765, i-131 and i-485 changed to 9/1/2008 today. This has not changed since I got my EAD. None of my wife's dates have changed. Does this mean anything? The things I have done lately that might (or might not) have caused this:
- Called CSR to check on status. She asked me to call back as my processing dates are not current yet.
- my lawyer sent G-28 so they could check on any information for me.
Here is some info:
i-140: 9/26/2005
i-485: 7/23/2007
EB-2

just finished going thro all the proposed ammendments...only a handful (1154, 1156, 1166, 1183, 1200, 1220, 1242, 1249) deal with EB issues at all....very few of them are positive (3) for us.........also based on an article on immigration-law website, EB based people have no voice in the negotiations!!! so...as frusterating this may be.....its looking like a certainity that many of us will be screwed big time..........lets keep doing what we can through IV.......it looks all dooms though.........:mad:

Hello all,
I entered US on a valid h4 visa on june 2007.Filed for a h1b on march 2008 and got and stamped h1 on sep 2008.Cud not find job due to recession.Converted back to h4 on oct 2009.I have following questions
1) Is it possible to convert back to H1 or fresh H1 ?
2) will the time period i spent on h4 will be counted for my h1?
3) When i stamped my h1b earlier(oct 2008) it showed validity till sep 2011.Does that mean I have to apply h4 to h1 before that?
4) In case if i get a RFE on converting from h4 to h1 Can i stay back on my existing h4 visa?
5) I havnt ever worked on my H1 will that affect my conversion from h4 to h1 now?
It will be great if you can answer these questions.

I have a difficult situation , i have a H1B expiring in 5 Days and also ending the 6 yr period. My company is filing a H1B to L1A conversion application from US in premium processing
1. Is it legal to stay until L1A is approved? for duration of 2 weeks until L1 Premium processing is done
2. In L1A is rejected, would it be legal to travel citing the rejection of L1 petition
Please help me with any insight you may have
Just want to add that , the company is asking me to go on an admin leave for the period
